We hang tough

We played well in the first half, but you can't keep Payton Manning on the Sidelines with an offense that gets off the field faster than an illegible player before a snap.

In the second half, The colts unleashed the offense that made them one of the league's top teams in recent years. Our defense is getting better. On offense, I say start Carr or even the Rookie Moore and get the mistakes out of the way by rebuilding now. Get all the young guys some playing time. We have a good chance at making the play-offs, but we're light-years away from being a superbowl team(understatement of the year)

Colts @ Panthers: I actually think we have a chance

Sunday, October 28, 1:00 PM EST
Bank of America Stadium: Charlotte, NC

Well! After a bye week, we are here again. Our hands are full as we are playing the world champs. We've beaten San Francisco in 95, Dallas in 96, Rams in 2000, Bucaneers in 2003 & Patriots in 2005. However we were raped by the steelers in 2006 and Packers in 97 as well. What does that tell you?

Stats are meaningless. Just go out there and win the game.

Also, the old man is starting. My uncle Vinny. Fugget-a-bout-it! No pressure. Go Panthers! Just win the game. If we win I'll upload "still ballin'" by 2pac.

The old man

I did not have enough time to write about our game and win against the Cardinals. I did not even watch the game. Part of the reason is due to the time I was spending with my dad and no internet access for the most part. While I was hanging out with my old man, panthers signed an old man.

So, on to quick updates. Jake is out for the season. David carr is dinged up. So, we sign Vinny Testaverde who was out of football a week ago. After 4 days of practice, and barrage of old jokes by the media, Vinny learns that he will start for us against the cards as well. He then makes history by becoming the oldest QB in NFL history to start and win a game. Way to go old man(top left pic) :-)

We had to squeak out another road win again, but since our season opening win has diminished cuz it turns out that the Rams suck balls, this has to be our most convincing win thus far.

Only consistent theme of this season thus far is our road-warrior mentality. We are 4-0 on the road and have been completely dominated and have lost both games at The Vault.

I'll take 4-2 going into the bye week as opposed to 1-5, which we very likely would have been. After the bye we get the champs(Colts) at The Vault. That will be a big test.

PS - The Beast is awake and Smitty(right pic) delivered as usual.

There was progress

And guess what? We won!!! Granted it was against a team that completely self destructed and handed us the game in the 4th quarter(what's that word again...ya choke), there was still tremendous progress in all 3 phases. The defense played their a$$ess off and special teams looked good. What can I say about the only original panther on this roster John Kasay? There were missed tackles here and there and I think they have to be corrected. We got two interceptions after having none all year. And the beast finally awoke as he saved our asses by blocking a a field gial that would have been a nail in out coffin. Peppers saved the game and Kasay(being mobbed by teammates in the pic) won it.

David Carr looked more comfortable than last week. He also has helped shed his pretty boy image by getting back in the game after a possible career ending hit, and then and leading us to an improbable win. This was an ugly win, but it was not as undeserved as the Atlanta game a couple fo weeks back. There was progress. There was effort. Great work. Here is what David Carr said after the game, and I hope that will hold true.

"I've never been in a football game like that before. It was phenomenal. ... I was going up to all the defensive guys afterward thanking them for stopping them (after his interception). It was like my life was out there on the line. ... They were saying that was the kind of feeling they had in '03, when they were going on that (Super Bowl) run. Once that starts happening, man, a football team can be pretty dangerous."

Carolina @ New Orleans: Just show me progress

I've lowered the bar considerably for this team as there is something obviously wrong, and as a result of which we are not a very good team right now. I won't get into any specifics as all I want to see is progress. Don't get me wrong, I'll take an ugly win like the Atlanta game 2 weeks back as opposed to a loss that we dominated. However, one thing I certainly do not want to see is a dispirited team. Please show all the fans that you care.
