Kris Jenkins summed it up. We were beaten in every aspect of the game by a far superior team. Unless we get some major spark, this will be a long season. I don't mind losses, but for any loyal fan, when your team completely mails it in like that, you die a little inside. I can't really place any blame on Carr. I blame the coaching staff's retarded mindset. Obvious adjustments were not being made until it was too late and Tampa Bay switched to doing other things. Bucs were like 20 steps ahead of us. I am so embarassed by this loss. I can't get into any more details as I have mustered up so much energy to write this paragraph alone. Yes! I am a sore loser. This was a beat-down. This was an embarassment to anyone associated with this team.

Tampa Bay @ Carolina: Another rivalry & an early division lead at stake
Sunday September 27, 2007 4.05pm EDT
Bank of America Stadium
Charlotte, NC
This week we have another heated, I mean very heated rivalry. We have owned the Tampa Bay Bucaneers in recent years mostly courtesy of DelHommie, but all the games have been close and physical. As I said in an earlier entry, Kris Jenkins blocking an extra point to prevent a Tampa win and send the game into overtime is the second greatest panther moment for me. We have owned them since.

One difference tomorrow is that Delhommie is out. This is where we can really see the difference between this year and last. David Carr has to step in and deliver in a very hostile and physical game. I think he is up to it and I think he will do well. If a QB controversy comes about in the coming weeks, I think it will only mean that we have two good QBs. Jake is the ultimate professional as well as Carr (I think). Now light them up and prove me right Dave. If there is a Tampa fan talking sh** to me tomorrow, I will not be backing down. And back in Charlotte, BofA(pic) will be rocking. Guaranteed!

Running game improves in ugly win
I consider the Atlanta Falcons to be our biggest rival with Tampa Bay Bucaneers right up there with them. I mean, I have more respect for Tampa because according to me, their fans are more knowledgeable and classy. Anyways, there is no love lost with the punk-a$$ falcons and their fans ever since I started following this team.Besides us getting shredded in the Georgia dome in ‘97 for 50+ points , the two Michael Vick personal shut-out beat-downs to us in 2002, our play-off clinching season finale drubbing of them Georgia dome in 2005 and a few others, our games with the falcons have always been chippy, scrappy, heartbreaking and full of fights. It is always a war with this piece of sh** excuse for a team. I kid the falconsJ. Talking about heartbreaking, what panther fan can ever forget that Michael Vick dive in 2004 that tied a game we had in the bag and falcons eventually won in OT. I felt personally stabbed by Vick man. I actually missed a flight watching that sh** J. My point is most games with them are classic dogfights. I digress.
With the absence of Vick, I am just glad our rivalry with the falcons is as intense as ever.
So, on to yesterday’s game; After getting being manhandled in every aspect of the game for the second straight week, in the middle of the third quarter Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall blinked first in his fantasy duel with Smitty. The result was D-Hall single handedly handing us the momentum as he picked a nice moment to implode and gave us 67 yards on a drive that was going to get a field goal at best. Thanks baby come again :-) Thanks also to Spin Tk for th honorary Panther Jersey(top left) :-)
Only positive for us was the running game. We need a lotta work, I mean a lot of we are going to be a play-off team. And with Tampa looking good and coming to Charlotte next week, an early division lead is at stake.
Our secondary keeps getting beat down like they stole money from opponents. Someone stop the bleeding please. Our safeties need…I don’t know…they just look terrible. Matt Schaub and Joey Harrington have picked them apart. I can only imagine what Jeff Garcia, Payton Manning etc… will do to them unless they step up their game.
Jake got hurt, but I am not as down on David Carr as most of our fans. I think he will do very well.
Special teams keep giving up great field positions. Someone stop the bleeding there as well.
It is official. Julius peppers is in his annual disappearing act. I think this may be a cool thing, because it only means he is getting it out of his system early in the season. You know he will explode at some point. The beast will be unleashed in an opportune time, or it is wishful thinking of a fan that is too passionate about his team. Until then, I am content with scrappy ugly wins J
All in all, we sucked ball$ for the second straight week, but this time we won this week. Granted were lucky to win this game, I just have the feeling that we can’t possibly play any worse than the last two weeks. It will only get better. Our improved running game is a tiny evidence of what is to come hopefully. Great Job Deshaun and D-Will.

Carolina @ Atlanta: Just show up and earn your check!
That is all I am asking
Panthers @ Falcons

Georgia Dome: Atlanta, GA
The Falcons supposedly suck worse than us, so I expect a win. There won't be a Michael Vick terrorizing us for the first time in recent years. I like our chances unless we mail it in like last week. I want to see some balls from players other then Steve Smith. And please start Dwayne Jarret!
Charlotte Observer:Panthers average, but Falcons worse

Homeopener horror
All I have to say is that after being up by two touchdowns, we turned around and got raped. I am confused about this team even though it is very early in the season. We looked great against the Rams and then we get shredded by Houston. Granted Houston looked pretty good, there was still no reason to roll over like that. Our performance reminded me of the later part of the 2001/02 seaosn when we played with no energy/win or lose. Actually all we did that season was lose, but that's besides the point. Where was the passion. Is there anyone on this team that has a pulse other than Steve Smith?
Julius Peppers, you are about a year away from being called a hype.
Step the f*** up!
Trgovac, grow some balls and use your personnel. If you have a Ferrari, you don't park it or drive it around the neighborhood. Cmon man!

The Texans looked pretty good last week against Kansas City, so this game is not to be taken lightly. Mario Williams had a monster game, so he will be a handful and our offensive line should be ready for him. But guess what, their lame ass offensive line better get ready for Julius Peppers and co. I will be at hooters and best of luck to both teams :-)

Rams down: theme was adjustment & resilience
Smith Sparks Memories in Panthers Win
NFL.com
I cannot think of many Panther games where we adjusted very well to the game. The defense was giving up huge runs and it quickly shut down the run. There was no pressure on Bulgar early, but as the game wore on, he looked hurried. In all fairness, the loss of Orlando Pace may have something to do with that as well. The offense had a nice first drive, but was stagnant for the rest of the half.
I really liked the play-calling on offense for the simple fact that they did not cling on any type of scheme. They were mixing it up. They were doing it all. They were aggressive at times, conservative, tricky etc... Way to go Jeff Davidson. Of course, Smitty adds another home-run to his repertoire. Good Job Trgovac in the 2nd half as well. Only negative for me was that big return by Dante Hall to our 20, but our defense instantly snuffed out that momentum by holding them to a 3 and out. I've seen more dominating wins, but I can't recall being this satisfied with play calling and game management. We look good. Great job adjusting. Also, great job being resiliant as we rebounded from two fumbles in hostile territory.
Oh ya. I watched the game at Hooters in hostile territory surrounded by so many Rams fans. It was such a great experience. I can fairly say that I have found a spot to watch the games. It is amazing how the lovely women there turn into human beings when a bigger passion(football) is involved :-) Does that mean lust and sports use the same emotional energy? Who gives a sh**! We won. Great job with adjusting and resilience. Need to see more of that this season.

The season will kick off within a few hours. I will go out on a limb and say the Lambs will be silenced again. However, the first game of the season is always tricky. Don't know what to expect. Unless we get hit by significant injuries, we should be play-off bound.
As soon as I get off work, I will be scouting downtown long beach for any sports bars that will show the game. I have my Julius Peppers Jerseey on already :-)

Preseason 4 - Steelers
We got destroyed again. But Jake Delhomme, Steve Smith & Dan Morgan did not start. I really can't get any type of feel towards this year's team; mostly because I have watched none of the games. We open up against the Rams this coming Sunday. Since the LA area gets all the Rams games, I don't have to look for a sports bar just yet.
Final cut were not that surprising according to charlotte.com fans forum.
PS - Kenyatta Walker was among the first cut.
